info@crendon.com.au| Crendon Machinery have made a new design Sadie with 50% more nylon bristles, each bristle is twice the diameter as before. Now comes with spring tynes for heavy sweeping out of grass. Hydraulic motors are stronger than before having two taper bearings & big, tapered output shaft. Orchard SADIE is a pruning and leaf sweeper which clears prunings and debris from under fruit trees and vines, improving vineyard hygiene. The steel spring tynes easily removes weed clumps to give clean ground for pre-emergence herbicide spraying. |
Orchard Sadie with rubber flaps rear viewRubber flaps were developed in 2001 and have been further refined for the new 2020 model. The new flaps are longer with a more tapered shape giving a softer sweep for the first 50mm (similar to nylon bristles). Rubber flaps are recommended for use providing there are no trickle lines on the ground. They do not cause damage to vine stems or tree trunks and height setting is not critical. The advantage of rubber flaps is that they have a very long life. SADIE leaves a neat windrow of pruning and a clean strip beneath the trees ready for herbicide spraying. Usually the tractor is fitted with a mulcher or mower on it's 3 PL so that sweeping and mulching of prunings occurs at the same time.
